According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2003:

  1. Alaska: 300
  2. District of Columbia: -700
  3. Hawaii: -800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2003:

  1. California: -59,200
  2. New York: -48,000
  3. Michigan: -46,600
