According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2004:

  1. California: 22,000
  2. New York: 14,700
  3. Illinois: 13,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2004:

  1. Hawaii: -600
  2. Vermont: -100
  3. District of Columbia: 300
