According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2005:

  1. Michigan: 26,500
  2. California: 18,000
  3. Missouri: 10,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2005:

  1. Alaska: -1,200
  2. Iowa: -600
  3. Nebraska: -500
