According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2006:

  1. Illinois: 22,100
  2. New York: 19,500
  3. Michigan: 16,500

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2006:

  1. California: -13,100
  2. Oklahoma: -2,000
  3. Florida: -1,400
