According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2006:

  1. California: 39,500
  2. New York: 16,400
  3. Texas: 16,300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2006:

  1. Alabama: 100
  2. District of Columbia: 200
  3. Delaware: 400
