According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2007:

  1. Michigan: 25,500
  2. Ohio: 10,500
  3. California: 4,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2007:

  1. Florida: -3,500
  2. Alaska: -1,000
  3. Idaho: -500
