According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2012:

  1. California: 15,500
  2. Florida: 5,300
  3. Michigan: 4,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2012:

  1. Alaska: -2,000
  2. Kansas: -400
  3. Maryland: -300
