According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2012:

  1. Alaska: 2,600
  2. District of Columbia: -100
  3. Louisiana: -600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2012:

  1. New York: -29,600
  2. Illinois: -27,100
  3. Ohio: -24,500
