According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2014:

  1. California: 24,300
  2. Ohio: 8,200
  3. Michigan: 7,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2014:

  1. Alaska: -3,000
  2. Mississippi: -300
  3. Montana: -100
