According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2002:

  1. California: 27,200
  2. Texas: 25,600
  3. New York: 25,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2002:

  1. District of Columbia: -1,100
  2. Rhode Island: 100
  3. Wyoming: 400
