According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. District of Columbia: 7,700
  2. Delaware: -1,400
  3. Rhode Island: -4,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. California: -133,100
  2. Texas: -84,400
  3. Michigan: -56,000
