According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2002:

  1. Virginia: 5,000
  2. District of Columbia: 3,000
  3. Hawaii: 2,500

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2002:

  1. Florida: -75,400
  2. Texas: -49,800
  3. North Carolina: -46,900
