According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2002:

  1. California: 29,400
  2. Texas: 8,400
  3. New York: 8,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2002:

  1. Minnesota: -400
  2. North Dakota: -100
  3. Indiana: -100
