According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 3 U.S. states that added the highest not seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Government industry in July, 2003 were:

  1. District of Columbia: 5,000
  2. Delaware: -2,300
  3. Montana: -4,500

On the other hand, the 3 U.S. states that added the lowest not seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Government industry in July, 2003 were:

  1. California: -124,800
  2. Texas: -91,800
  3. Michigan: -59,500
