According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2003:

  1. Texas: 7,600
  2. Florida: 6,500
  3. Colorado: 5,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2003:

  1. Pennsylvania: -4,600
  2. Wisconsin: -3,900
  3. Michigan: -3,300
