According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2004:

  1. Texas: 27,400
  2. New York: 22,100
  3. Tennessee: 22,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2004:

  1. District of Columbia: -200
  2. Rhode Island: 100
  3. Wyoming: 400
