According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2005:

  1. New York: 5,700
  2. Minnesota: 2,000
  3. Wisconsin: 1,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2005:

  1. Texas: -10,800
  2. California: -9,700
  3. Washington: -7,200
