According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2005:

  1. Virginia: 3,900
  2. District of Columbia: 2,700
  3. New Jersey: 2,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2005:

  1. Florida: -99,800
  2. North Carolina: -51,200
  3. Texas: -48,800
