According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2005:

  1. Michigan: 78,800
  2. Texas: 75,800
  3. California: 63,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2005:

  1. District of Columbia: -10,500
  2. Hawaii: 800
  3. Delaware: 3,500
