According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2006:

  1. California: 16,500
  2. Maryland: 5,300
  3. North Carolina: 5,300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2006:

  1. Connecticut: -100
  2. District of Columbia: 0
  3. Vermont: 0
