According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2007:

  1. District of Columbia: 11,700
  2. Florida: 100
  3. Delaware: -1,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2007:

  1. California: -127,200
  2. North Carolina: -71,400
  3. Michigan: -55,500
