According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2007:

  1. California: 22,400
  2. Maryland: 6,200
  3. Florida: 5,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2007:

  1. Minnesota: -900
  2. District of Columbia: -700
  3. Iowa: -100
