According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2007:

  1. California: 52,500
  2. New York: 37,900
  3. New Jersey: 25,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2007:

  1. Kentucky: 400
  2. Idaho: 400
  3. North Carolina: 1,200
