According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2008:

  1. New York: 10,000
  2. California: 7,900
  3. Oklahoma: 2,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2008:

  1. Hawaii: -5,200
  2. Florida: -2,300
  3. Georgia: -1,700
