According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2008:

  1. California: 13,600
  2. New York: 8,900
  3. Hawaii: 6,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2008:

  1. Florida: -1,100
  2. Alabama: -400
  3. Delaware: -200
