According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2009:

  1. New York: 8,300
  2. California: 7,400
  3. New Jersey: 6,300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2009:

  1. Indiana: -5,000
  2. Colorado: -900
  3. Mississippi: -600
