According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2010:
- New York: 23,600
- Illinois: 22,300
- California: 15,800
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2010:
- District of Columbia: -600
- Delaware: 1,000
- Montana: 1,100
