According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2010:

  1. California: 45,800
  2. New York: 41,500
  3. Florida: 27,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2010:

  1. Michigan: -1,400
  2. Alaska: -1,300
  3. North Dakota: 900
