According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2010:

  1. California: 59,900
  2. Michigan: 54,100
  3. North Carolina: 47,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2010:

  1. District of Columbia: -200
  2. Montana: 3,000
  3. Delaware: 3,400
