According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2011:

  1. California: 18,100
  2. North Carolina: 6,500
  3. New Jersey: 5,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2011:

  1. Maryland: -3,000
  2. Alaska: -800
  3. District of Columbia: -500
