According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2012:
- New York: 5,900
- Nevada: 900
- New Hampshire: 800
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2012:
- California: -14,600
- Michigan: -8,800
- Illinois: -7,000
