According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2012:

  1. California: 19,800
  2. Maryland: 5,500
  3. Georgia: 5,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2012:

  1. Louisiana: -800
  2. Florida: -700
  3. North Dakota: 100
