According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2013:

  1. Ohio: 5,400
  2. Massachusetts: 4,200
  3. Illinois: 2,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2013:

  1. New Jersey: -10,800
  2. Hawaii: -3,000
  3. Florida: -2,400
