According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2013:

  1. District of Columbia: 10,200
  2. Delaware: -1,900
  3. Montana: -5,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2013:

  1. California: -174,500
  2. North Carolina: -73,700
  3. Missouri: -44,700
