According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2014:

  1. California: 11,600
  2. Ohio: 8,800
  3. New Jersey: 7,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2014:

  1. Florida: -3,400
  2. District of Columbia: -900
  3. Louisiana: -800
