According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2015:
- Florida: 75,300
- North Carolina: 56,500
- Indiana: 37,800
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2015:
- District of Columbia: -14,200
- New York: -12,500
- Massachusetts: -11,100
