According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2016:

  1. California: 12,900
  2. Hawaii: 2,500
  3. Nebraska: 2,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2016:

  1. Michigan: -15,600
  2. Arizona: -9,700
  3. Florida: -6,300
