According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2016:

  1. California: 20,100
  2. Massachusetts: 7,400
  3. New York: 7,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2016:

  1. Idaho: -700
  2. Mississippi: -300
  3. Kansas: -200
