According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2017:

  1. California: 3,300
  2. Arkansas: 2,300
  3. Massachusetts: 2,300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2017:

  1. Florida: -5,600
  2. District of Columbia: -2,600
  3. Nevada: -2,100
