According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2017:

  1. California: 20,800
  2. Colorado: 4,800
  3. Illinois: 4,300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2017:

  1. Minnesota: -1,000
  2. Louisiana: -900
  3. North Dakota: -300
