According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2017:
- California: 66,800
- New York: 31,900
- New Jersey: 19,500
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2017:
- Nevada: -2,200
- Indiana: -1,700
- District of Columbia: -1,000
