According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2018:

  1. Florida: 80,000
  2. North Carolina: 52,500
  3. Indiana: 41,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2018:

  1. New York: -11,600
  2. District of Columbia: -11,100
  3. Massachusetts: -9,700
