According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2018:
- Florida: 80,000
- North Carolina: 52,500
- Indiana: 41,400
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2018:
- New York: -11,600
- District of Columbia: -11,100
- Massachusetts: -9,700
