According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2018:

  1. California: 20,000
  2. Illinois: 8,100
  3. North Carolina: 4,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2018:

  1. Minnesota: -1,700
  2. Massachusetts: -1,600
  3. Arizona: -500
