According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2018:

  1. California: 9,200
  2. Illinois: 7,000
  3. New York: 6,300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2018:

  1. Michigan: -13,100
  2. Florida: -7,600
  3. Arizona: -6,500
