According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2019:

  1. New York: 6,000
  2. Ohio: 5,200
  3. California: 3,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2019:

  1. Indiana: -5,800
  2. Nevada: -1,700
  3. Hawaii: -1,400
