According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2020:
- California: 73,800
- North Carolina: 58,700
- Florida: 53,300
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2020:
- District of Columbia: -6,800
- Idaho: 0
- Maine: 400
