According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2021:

  1. California: 20,300
  2. North Carolina: 8,900
  3. Illinois: 7,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2021:

  1. Florida: -1,700
  2. Connecticut: -900
  3. Michigan: -300
