California: 20,300
North Carolina: 8,900
Illinois: 7,000

On the other hand, the 3 U.S. states that added the lowest not seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Government industry in April, 2021 were:

Florida: -1,700
Connecticut: -900
Michigan: -300
