According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Information industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2004:

  1. California: 7,200
  2. District of Columbia: 500
  3. Rhode Island: 200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Information industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2004:

  1. New York: -9,800
  2. Illinois: -4,000
  3. Florida: -3,200
