According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Information industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2006:

  1. New Mexico: 1,200
  2. Hawaii: 500
  3. Tennessee: 200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Information industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2006:

  1. California: -5,400
  2. New York: -2,100
  3. Illinois: -1,200
