According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Leisure and Hospitality industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2002:

  1. California: 7,100
  2. Indiana: 3,400
  3. Texas: 3,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Leisure and Hospitality industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2002:

  1. South Carolina: -2,700
  2. New Jersey: -2,300
  3. Connecticut: -1,900
